Yeah, it’s a matter of priority I suppose; as you say the Veyron project wasn’t about being the fastest car ever to 60mph it was about having the highest top speed, being capable of being driven safely by almost any driver (which is ironic since only 300 people will ever own one at a given time) and being luxurious.
I’d take a Veyron over the car in the vid any day lol, don’t get me wrong.
@theporksicle You are correct and also im pretty sure Bugatti can make the fastest 0-60 car but tuning the car to go the fastest to 0-60 wont allow it to be the fastest car ever.

I know, but obviously the designers of the Veyron bore acceleration in mind so I don’t understand why they couldn’t get it down to 0-60 in 1 second. I suspect they couldn’t do this because it would have made for a very uncomfortable, uncivilised, noisy ride whereas, from what I’ve heard, the Veyron is relatively quiet and comfortable at all times.

What I don’t get is this, how come one man on his own, albeit a car expert, could take a car which was, at best, mediocre and turn it into a monster which can do 0-60 in 1 second and yet be street legal (and presumably safe) while Volkswagen, under the auspices of the Bugatti brand, couldn’t do the same with the hundreds of millions or billions they have to spend?
Would it just be impossible to have the civilised ride Veyron drivers want with such extreme acceleration?
