OLD JAPANESE PEOPLE WERE AMAZING THEIR NES GAMES WERE UNBEATABLE,ANIMATORS WERE BEST IN THE WORLD JUST LOOK AT DRAGON BALL Z CAN ANYONE DO THIS NOW….. HELL NOOOOOOO
they are using a Detroit 6-71 diesel 2 stroke engine sound AND a top fuel dragster sound for the GRX…
this car reminds of the koenigsegg agera R…
does anyone else agree that the 1967 GRX is better looking than the 2008 GRX?
if it was real. that would mean the GRX was and would still be FASTER than A Veyron SS
Some of the newly-designed 2012 concepts look a bit like this fantasy monster…That’s a scary thought…
That Chim Chim can muthafuckin’ drive a go cart!!!
I have always wondered what engine sound was used for the Mach 5 in the opening credits? Anyone got any ideas?
@PepperWhite62 Yupp
@rebeledvid the movie was a hash,
I always liked the design of the GRX better than the Mach 5. It looks like an arrow and sounds like a P-51 or ME-109. If you’re also a GRX fan, don’t see the live action Speed Racer movie; they turned their GRX into a teenage mutant ninja joke. It’s all about the engine Ben Cranum (not “Bent Cranium”) built and the car Oriana Flub (or Norma Desmond) had built to instaall it into. Like jalil124 I think it sounds even better than the Mach 5. Faster, too.
OMG that was Meth they used to be able to drive that car LOL!!
Speed looks like he’s in deep shit here.
Speed had that frigger in a high speed broad slide at 2:47 why he applied the brake in the middle of the turn on a closed course is beyond me, and Pop never broke a sweat. WTF you know any race car builder /father is going to give their boy hell. I have always had less respect deep down for Speed after first seeing this video in 1969 on the UHF channel.
@jdog942 That’s interesting because when the series was bought by Trans-Lux back in 1967 they dubbed the voices but I never heard of any redoing to the music or the SFX tracks so with all due respect to your old friend I don’t see how he can possibly know what the Japanese used. I do agree with you it sounds like a 427 Chevy dragster. However, the sound of the car running is a 2 propeller airplane in flight. I grew up near an airbase in the 60′s and I know that sound very well.
@jdog942 Thank you so much! I wonder why information like that is always so hard to find these days! People really should know the engines and sounds that made speed racer so memorable! At least now one car’s engine (or this case engines) are now known! And again, thank you!
@CLShadow5114 The Idling and reving of the GRX was from a 427 Chevy dragster.
And I belive the SFX used when the GRX is flying by on the race track is from a 440 Doge mopar.
I always thought it was kind of weird using to different sounds for the GRX. I know an old guy who
use to work on the sound effects and voicing for speed racer. And he says thats what they used.
Any car fans out there! Can someone please tell me what engine is being used for the SFX of the GRX engine?! I looked everywhere online and can’t find anyone who can place the sound of that motor, so please, does anyone know what Engine is being used for the GRX?
I watched Speed Racer every day, hoping this would be the episode that would come on!
he goes crazy
At the end it was almost like Speed was high.
Oh My Gosh, he was probebly high on the drug speed!
Drugs are bad; never do them.
15:08 Good Lord, LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THOSE EYE LASHES!!!
Why have we got a womens’ product ad? We men watch these vids, too! Give us equal time with the pre-vid ads!
Guys, I worked as a janitor about a month ago at West coast customs. And a customer who was a speed racer fannatic came in with the blue prints to this exact GRX. The Guy wanted Ryan Friedlinghaus to build him the GRX body with a corvette chassy. Ryan also said he wanted to install a 572 Chevy crate motor in the GRX replica. I don’t know if it was ever built, it would be wicked if someone posted it.
@jalil124 Finally, I’m not the only one who thinks that.
